Hi, I have this Willem 5.0 Eprom programmer that I have bought from Ebay. I have bought it for some older eproms that I need to program. With newer 27C256 and 27C512 it works ok, but with older 27128 and 2716 it does not because of the voltage drop on VPP. It has a potentiometer (in the red square) that can be used for VPP. This is what you use for 5.0E. On the bottom left of the willem you should see 2 jumpers to set your version. If you set it to 3B mode, then you should use software version 97JA. Also if you run into bytes changing and you can't get a good dump, then turn up tWP and tWC a couple clicks. This usually smooths things out. The Willem programmer is a device for programming electronic memory such as erasable-programmable read-only memory (EPROM), and electrically erasable programmable read-only memory (EEPROM) types. It comes as a bare PCB and this one is version PCB 5.0. It also has an accompanying software CD, compatible with Windows operating systems, and the manual and operating instructions are on the CD. It requires a parallel data cable to connect to a computer. An extension cable with a 25 pin male connector at one end and female at the other should work.

DIP Switch Settings
These DIP Switch settings are also very easy to configure. After selecting the memory integrated circuit, the software displays a diagram of how these switches should be set. The settings are obviously different for different chips.

When I bought this programmer on eBay, there were many sellers with a similar product, and some of them will sell just the programmer board without the cables whilst others will sell the cables as well.
